Kinda proud because it's my first attempt.....Didn't want to spend $600+ on a Tire carrier/rack...

2 bolts, all gone

since it is "removeable" do you want to advertise that all you need to do is undo 2 bolts and it is "all gone", id ditch the basket and only run the spare tire carrier if needed

Same here, do you really want more weight, that high?

That's what I was thinking too......Now all I have to do is make a tire mount that fits into the receiver hitches with no rack.

The rack w/tire carrier would be good for just camping...no crawling.....You're right, I guess it is kinda high but I was thinking of only putting light stuff there...Cooler goes in the back.

I don't think anythings wrong with it as long as you use it for light weight stuff...

Sleeping Bags, Clothes, Light Camping Gear....

It is great for getting stuff to a campground and such.. I am sure you don't plan on wheeling with a cooler up there.. But I for one think it looks quite nice indeed.. That is a nice touch following the line of the roof like that.. What did you do, make it so just the top rack half can slide out of the tubes??

No, but now that I think about it......Thats a good idea.

I just welded 2 receiver hitches at the bottom of the bumper (the might get smashed but it's a trial and error thing for me)

I had a similar idea for one, but I was wondering how much the receiver hitch attachment will do as far as durabilty, noise, etc.

Go wheel the piss out of your heep and let us know how it did.

Pinched the crap out of the garade 8 bolts....It's sturdy but I should weld another "L" bracket from the "tailgate" to the rack for stability. No noise so far....But it's not loaded up with the tire and such.....I'll let you know.....

I have a feeling I'm going to smash the hitches on a few rocks and fawk myself.......But thats the fun of T&E right? :D

Nice lines...looks real good.

It's always nice to have a little extra room to bring camping gear with you.

good work

What I would suggest doing is to just use a pin but weld 2 nuts onto the reciever (one on top and one on a side) Make sure you drill holes first :D , Now you can take a grade 8 bolt and tighten it into the nut against the rack, allowing you to keep it from rattleing back there..
Hmmm.. if those recievers are strong enough, they would make some nice shackle points..
