: Cool picture!
60seriesguy 04-28-2003, 07:20 AM I used this for a thread on Chit-Chat but I figured you might want to see this. The Cruiser in question is a 1981 FJ40 restored by TLC in Van Nuys, I took this at the Toyota Vintage Vehicle Museum open house in 2001, I was trying out a new lens. It's one of my favorite pictures!
Caveat: I don't mind sharing but if it's going to be used on a commercial website I better get a request for permission!
woody 04-28-2003, 07:24 AM request for permission for one of the rotating cover shots on ih8mud.com?
SUHWEET pic!
60seriesguy 04-28-2003, 07:31 AM Granted! :)
ginericfj80 04-28-2003, 07:38 AM That is a nice shot! You used that in one of your details shots right? By the way, Gabe was wondering if he might be able to make a one off One Zee using one of your details shots.
Request for permission to use as my new wallpaper.
woody 04-28-2003, 08:01 AM beautiful...thanks!

fj40guy 04-28-2003, 09:24 AM Details, pls!
Camera, Lens, from the detail thinking digital....
I have my OLD Canon AE-1 (shutter priority) from 20+ years ago. Don't shoot much 35mm any more, but still have some decent lenses for it. Sigh, sure everything is cheaper and better now! :D
Wish I still had the photo's... I'd shoot black and white, then switch back to color, different speed, etc. I was up in Finland at the 1000 Lakes rallye... took half a roll of BW. A YEAR LATER at the German event... pulled out the same roll, and double exposed that first half with. I had Walter Rohrl in the Audi Quatto (same driver, same markings, different events) in one photo... un real. Another was a 205 (?) with a dust trail on a winding dirt road, super imposed over my (then fiancee's) back while she was sleeping... I would have NEVER gotten those shoots if I tried in a million years, but a simple mistake lead to some of my best photo's! Alas, in 36 photo's.... if I had ONE good action shoot... it was great!
Tom :usa:
sweet picture Henry. my desktop item for the day.
60seriesguy 04-28-2003, 12:59 PM Canon Rebel "G", 80-200 mm lens, ASA 200 Kodak film, UV filter, got lucky with the lighting... that, and a beautiful Land Cruiser that had just been washed for the display!
Ballard 04-28-2003, 01:06 PM Once upon a time I had a whole bunch of your detail shots. Any plans to do something with them?
Sounds like something I would purchase.
fj40crusher 04-28-2003, 02:08 PM Nice work Henry! I like :D

I've actually expanded the collection of detail shots (to about 60), I've been procrastinating but the idea is to release them as prints...dunno how much of market there would be out there for them, but I can always start with one of them. I want them to be poster-size, I've even talked to a couple of printers about it.
74_Chevota 04-28-2003, 02:31 PM That is super sweet!!! I can see it on a toyota commercial! Actualy they are making a toyota commercial on part of our farm this week. :D

If you're curious if there is a market, I know I would be interested. :)
RockinWagin 04-28-2003, 03:23 PM Hmmm, ever wonder why we don't see such close-ups of some of those rust-free unrestored beauties on E-Bay?
mixmaster 04-28-2003, 03:29 PM Very nice shot there Henry. I would definitely be intereseted in a poster sized detailed shot of cruisers.
TMAN FJ60 04-28-2003, 09:18 PM Hey Woody, if I were to get some pics of my cruiser ('84 FJ60) and send them to you, would I get to see it on the rotating spot? That would be pretty cool
Thanks,
Travis
