Thinking of getting one.....a couple of buddies have bought the Kawi 125 or the Yama 125. My bro with the Yamaha is telling me not to buy it because its to heavy???

Any owners or riders impressions would be helpful;)

what are you trying to do w/ it? just play? cause it's not much of a bike for "getting it" :D

I've practiced a little bit of stunting on all the bikes in that range. they are fun toys but nothing too special. the crf is bigger and heavier but nothing I'd be scared about. it has more nuts than the TTR and the kawi. (you're talking about the little 4 strokes right? not the KX and the YZ)

hell I have more fun screwing around on a 50 :D
If I was to choose between the three u've listed I'd get the crf.

Its just mainly for trail riding up near Placerville and just general farting around. I just wanted something different but I am just told it heavy as fawk. In fact my bro says his CR500 only weights 22 more pounds:eek:

I sat on the bike and really like the feel and height. Tell me about the KTM Silly?

the KTM is one bad mofo. hauls @$$.....but can do slow stuff very well. gets awesome mileage too. has a CA license plate however is set up for offroad. I have all the stuff to get it back on the street. you can make it run down the road in 30 mins!!!! (non - dot tires tho, who cares)

I just need it gone asap! PM me if you are interested...it's going cheap!

I looked at them for my 11 year old and they are nothing more an xr 200 with less power. Nasty xr suspension, top heavy, under powered pos in my humble opinion. I ended up buying him the cr 85 expert. The ttr's and drz's in the 'L' version are better if you are looking for a little 4 banger.

Trailriding on a 150? Sounds like a lot of work to me. Why not a 250, seems like more of a bike for an adult "on the trail". I am not trying to be tuff, I ride a 426 on the trail (and MX). I would hate to try to challenge some trials and hillclimbs on anything less that a 250 (4 stroke), but then again I am not the best rider.

For farting around, YES. My wifes TTR125 is fun, but I never leave camp or the roads. Tires are too small for me along with the bike (I am 6'3"). Anyway, just my .02.

Well the bike would mostly be used for trail riding up and around Placerville in steep terrain............very small and slopped trails and real bar busters. A small group of freinds have these size bikes and there just allot of fun.

I am only 6'0 and weigh about 160.........;)
