:D Hi folks, I will be coming through the Rubicon area in June and wanted to do a little recon on the Rubicon for my family and Jeep group. I don't plan on going in w/ what I'll be driving, just want to know where the entrance is and where to get the best maps/info on it. J2076

J2076,
Like you I had no info on the trail and went to see and learn first hand with no map or knowledgable help with me. After getting home the first thing I did was buy a map so the next time I went I was a little more knowledgable. Go to http://4x4guide.isontheweb.com and the map book is called 4 Wheelrs Guide to the Rubicon Trail. It's pretty goog and will help alot as far as where we entered at was Loon Lake (pg 4 of the book)

happy wheelin and good luck

I plan on going in june also

tell ya the honest truth, get to loon and just follow the trail of oil all the way to spider, alot of the trail is also been blocked to where is only one obvious way to go

The trail modifications (around Loon) were done by us, the Friends of the Rubicon, to make sure we stay on the trail and not do any damage to the meadows/swampy area. The new section of trail is great. Better. And the bureaucrats won't be after us and on our case. This is all to keep the trail open.

thanks, Del
