I thought I would post some pics of my truck running Lower Helldorado in Moab with some new treads. Tires are 35/10.50/15 Simex Extreme Trekker. We basically ran the trail with open diffs including this shot through "the squeeze".

I'll post some more pics tonight when I upload them from my digital camera.

I scoped out upper. I want to run it, but didn't have time. I will run it this year... Maybe at the rally. I need to get a few spare parts first, and my new winch!

Still trying to figure out how to get the truck through the second obstacle of upper. There isn't much room there. I suppose I'll just have to get the truck in there and make it fit somehow!

What exactly do you have for lift on that thing.........and is there any body lift at all?--which brings me to my next question. If I were going to put a RTE 2" body lift on my 89rrc, would I have to modify anything (I already have OME HD springs w/bilstein shocks and 2" spacers F&R with shock relocators in the front on 265/75/16 BFG Mt's) so that's like 3.5 -4" of lift already, and I havent had to do ANY mods at all.

Just wanna make sure of what I'm gettin into before i make my next investment.

Thanks,
Ben Ziskind

Interesting about UH. Hope you are not to attached to the rear portion of your roof and glass. Almost guaranteed to grind the crap outta it on UH. I wouldn't mind seeing it though!

How did the Simex's go on the rocks??

They are the undisputed king of mud over here - but not really enough rock around to tell....

What pressure did you run them at? We have to go down to 12lbs before they reall bag out....

The zuks can run them with 3 or 4 lbs and they look like they are at street pressure.

Go the 6 ply sidewalls :D

No Body Lift! I have 3" springs in the rear with a 2" spacer. Fronts are Rovertym's 20.5" spring that is supposedly only a 3" spring, no spacers up front. 3-4" of cutting all around. Cones in the rear, 12" shocks on all four corners.

Regarding Simex's on rocks. Surprisingly they performed very well. Hoping to get a somewhat direct comparison to the Goodyear MT/R's soon.

I ran them at 12 PSI. Could have easily went down to 8-10 PSI. They still need to get broken in, the sidewalls didn't flex much.

That's a sexy bumper....

Did you just fit the new taillight in there, or did you cut and weld in the new quarter?

Nice run!

Sorry to hijack a bit, but I'm very interested in the pressures your running the Simex at. We run in mud and lots of ruts, tree stumps and the like and have found them to leak badly from an ingress of mud at the sidewall / rims, and that is at 25 PSI!!!

we are all (except 1 on MJ Lee rims, and 1 on toyota rims ) using modified Disco rims (7*16). And we're all afraid to air down more as they leak badly after a few hours.

do you run with beadlockers or any such managery? Anyone else have this problem?

and yes, they are king of the mud!

Sweet:flipoff2:

I dig the Simex tires. They look real sharp on the Rangie.

We ran the tires at 12 PSI on a 15 X 8 rim. No problems whatsoever. Maybe once they start loosening up a bit they might leak, but right now we don't have any problems. If they are'nt aired down they beat the hell out of you since the sidewalls are so stiff. My guess is that you guys are running them on to narrow a rim. The 10.5's suggest a rim width of 8.5", and we're running them on an 8" rim. I can't imagine the 9.5's running on much less than a 7.5 - 8.0" rim.

BTW, for those of you who don't know, the tires are Bias Ply and won't balance. However I can still drive at 70 MPH without shaking the truck apart. They would be a good candidate for the Equal, however 4 Wheel Parts wanted something like $125 to install it. So for now, no wieghts whatsoever! Yeehaah!!!
