And while you are at it, Rich, tell what's happened with that "cutting and reboxing is allowed for non-suspension components (except non coil-over shocks)" sentance that you inserted into the Mod-Stock rules last month and now conspicuously absent in your latest and the RCAA version ....

The cutting for clearence of non suspension items (and reboxing) should not have been dropped from the rules. I did not notice that it was missing:(

Dovetailing is not allowed in the modified stock class only.

Rules are a pain in the a$$.......and even if you don't believe it, we are trying hard to come to a standard. If you don't like our standard, or what we are trying to do......there are ale\ways others with different rules. Someday, someone might hire a lawyer or professional rules writer and come up with the perfect set of rules (yeah right) and I will applaud the task, until then help us work through the problems ask questions. Maybe we'll get them right like SCORE or NASCAR, where they use the same rules for 10-20 years.......

IT"S IN THE CALROCS RULES THAT ARE LISTED ON www.calrocs.com

under vehicle requirements, modified stock, body (near the middle of the section)

Tub/Cab
=Must house two front passenger seats mounted side by side at both the left and right side of the vehicles passenger compartment.
=General condition must be in good shape without excessive rust or damage that would warrant concern for safety.
=Excessive body damage, as determined by an RCAA official, is not approved.
=All OEM tub/cab configurations are approved for competition. Aftermarket tubs must be OEM width and RCAA approved.
=No bolt in body panels are allowed (zeus clipped, quick replacement panels). Repaired panels are acceptable.
=Complete floors must be maintained.
No cutting of floor is allowed with the following exemptions.
=The center section of the body is approved for cutting & raising to allow drivetrain clearance directly over drivetrain components. This does not include axles or axle shafts. Cutting and reboxing for the clearance of non suspension items , including tires, shocks and fuel tank is permitted.
=Tubs/cabs may be cut along the bottom (rocker) area of the vehicle.
=The back of the tub/cab may be trimmed horizontally to match the rocker height. A minimum distance of 24” from the center of the axle to the back of the body must be maintained on bobbed vehicles. Trucks with non-convertible tops must maintain top.
1- Glass may be removed (recommended). All non-safety glass must be taped completely.

Having a set of rules that's good and stands the test of time is great and all, but I hope to god competitive rockcrawling never gets to the point NASCAR is at where everyone drives identical cars around in left hand circles a bunch. :(
