People are going to start arriving Friday night and go through
to about noon Monday. Meet in the lower part of the main camp-
ground since that's the only place you can have a fire.

Todd or Lance if there is room I might come up for this. With the race coming up I probably wont have time to do the cage, seats, harness, fenders and hood in the runner b4 and not sure I want to take the Bronco but I might. Have to check with the fam schedule too. Sounds like some fun though.

Directions:

215 south to Hwy. 79, just south of Temecula. Continue southeast for about 38 miles on Hwy. 79 to Warner Springs. On the south end of town, turn left on Camino San Ignacio and follow the Indian Reservation signs to the end of the road (mostly stay to the right when you come to forks in the road) and follow the road to the main gate of the reservation.

we know re:Todd has dogged out of the trip, who else IS still going? is there a paticular area that everyone is camping in? should we try to get :roxy: to start making lists for us? :flipoff2: or is this an 'on your own' type of trip?

Last time Jeff and I went fires weren't restricted. That may have changed since there was a big fire on part of the reservation last summer. If I recall, there are large fire pits around to choose from. In other words. . .bring your wood. :D

It's open. There are no "numbered" spots. Once through the gate
follow the main road (paved) for a while til it turns into dirt. When
you get to the second stone water tank on your right take the
first road to the right and follow it into the lower campground
area. That's where ppl want to camp since it's the only place
they're allowing fires.

So, Jeff...you are going to LC? I was going to call you and ask where you were going to go. I was also considering JV...it might be a little more exciting for me, but LC might be the closer/cheaper alternative (less chance of breakage)!

The wife and kid might come to...less room for BEER:(

Yea Frey LCIR for me and the kids.
It was 116 in Ocotillo wells last weekend, JV too fawking hot!
I need water, boats, and nude girls to hang out in that heat.
Which is were I should be this weekend but Angie has to work Fri., and Sat. She can drive to work from LCIR, she won't drive from JV or the river.
Did You get your problems fixed? I'm still working on my junk.

rfrey
05-20-2003, 08:31 AM
Well, I have an error code, and I can't seem to resolve it??? The motor also runs like crap, so I changed the fuel strainer, fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap rotor, pcv, and tps...and cleaned the injectors...it still runs like crap??? I have to figure it out before the weekend, or I will not be able to go... Angela also wants to go to LCIR...she likes the idea of camping there...close, nice trees, cooler...the only thing she doesn't like is all the crap (tree leaves, branches, and beer cans)...and with Scott in back, I am sure she will be going nuts! But I think LCIR is for us. Who are you camping with? Is it cool if I camp with you guys?

I'm not sure who's going Ryan? Some guys are going to JV some to high desert round up, some to the river, and some are staying home and passing out by the pool.
I'll bet that a few folks from HDR will bail the heat and head for LCIR. Me? I don't care if my junk ever leaves camp. I'll be chillin' with a cold beer and watchin' the kids crash the jeep into a tree like Uncle Roy would. Didn't think I was going to make it...The mechanic could not figure it out!!!! I tried telling him several times that I just made my gas tank, so there were metal fragments...that were now rusty still in the tank, and we should dump the gas out...Oh, I had also dumped in a ton of injector cleaner, and some octane booster! Yep, cleaned the tank, and it runs much better now! There is still a slight miss, but not bad enough to keep me from going!

Should be heading out here around 9 AM Should get there around 10:30 or possibly sooner. I just have to look up directions.

Ok, I just got back last night. I had a great time. I wasn't able to do much rock crawling with all the little things going wrong with my rig, but my wife, kid, and I had a great time.

Thanks guys!!!

Oh, one more thing...as I was driving home on Sunday (down the 76), we were asked to slow down...we were told there was an "accident" ahead. Well, as we slowly came around a corner, there was a motorcycle rider lying face down right in the center of the road...motionless. Needless to say, my stomach dropped. I glup, a sigh, and about 60-80 yards away I saw his bike...all smashed up!

I need closure...anybody know what happened???
