From my '88 Rangie (Disco Tranny)

Looked under my truck today to see if I can find the source of a small fluid drip...and found this:

Wondering if the hold on the bottom of the picture (driver's side) between the tranny and the torque converter is supposed to be there...

Thanks

Dave

Yep, that's supposed to be there...It lets oil drip out when you've got a bad rear-main seal!

Thanks...

It just looked a little "Flintsoneish" to me...the earlier tranny (the one in my shop manual) had a nice round hole with a lip around it etc...

on the contrary - as usual merv has left little room for the imagination, much like the other sites he is tabbing back and forth between :flipoff2:

:p

as usual, i have nothing useful to add.

Is Rover the only car company to build holes in their gear so that the oil can get out on its own???
