Yeah.... was not much of a run for me either.... didnt break anything butttt geeeeee

drive 2 1/2 hours, sit for about 2 1/2 hours while folk are broke or stuck... realy wheel for 10 minutes..... drive around for 20 then drive home for another 2 1/2 hours..

the stuck part was completely unneissary and waste of time too.

Yippeeeeeee :(

That was only 1/4 of the issue... .. It was how it was dealt with that was 3/4 of the problem. Hook em up and pull... "appropriately" or winch would have been best for all....

The YJ stuck was way out of line... a fellow wheeler that set that up made a bad time for the rest of us and risked breaking a fellow wheelers rig. If the wheeler who set that up was in my club I'lde ban him instantly or invoke some type of large duty, fine... something.

Which YJ, Coach? The guywith the blue one that dunked himself into that bottomless pit of muck??
I'm not sure what the XJ guys name was that was really stuck and lost his tire(He told me, but I can't remember). He was pretty bent out of shape about people ragging on him. He was kind of lost, so I took a looonngg way home to get him back to RT 51. His tie rod was tweeked, I think when he hit that stump...
Felt bad for you, cause I knew how far you drove. No biggy for me, I grew up about 7 miles from there. Only live about 30 minutes away now....
If you make it back there, you'll like it. Like Rob said, maybe head out with only a couple people...

well you may be right, but you dont know the history of that person... he has been wheelin a hell of alot longer than me, and well if you cant learn from your mistakes once , twice, hell 100 times then your no longer gonna get my help. this is the first time in years ive seen him leave a trail without a tow! and he drives his junk, so he wants us to tow him home....... it gets old.

i stayed out of it, and im glad i did................. im sure this will be brought up at the meeting...

i can say this, the last trip there went great, we broke lots of stuff on the trail i broke on today, but it went smooth... and he wasnt there

i dont know what happened with the yj stuck, just heard that someone said it wasnt deep and he went into it and it was....... but i bet he would of never been in it all if it wasnt for the other guy.

sorry it was a bad day, actually it was one of the shittiest trail rides ive been on in years.... it will change... 1st off turn down vehicles not set up for what we are doin that day... we had requirements for this run, ie winch, tow points front and rear, and told club to expect damage.... should of stuck with it..... btw i didnt care that you had a winch or not, i would of helped ya out if necessary.....

Winch Rules- no winch is ok if you can get a winch equiped rig in front and back to agree to be your Winch!

LIke u saying you wourld help me out...

Thats unofficially it has allwasy been done on club runs I have been on.

I think its good enough to be a written rule too.

ps. Thanks for saying u would be my "winch" :D I really need a "winch" I been reallllllll lonely lately..... :crybaby: :jester: :girly:

A person gotta know their limits. That's one thing with me. I'll head out to Creek Falls and sheeot with you guys, but I know my junk won't hack it, so I just do the milder stuff and try to keep outta the way, and have a good time watching others tackle the nasy shit. It's when people overestimate either their own abilities or their rigs that fawks things up....Oh wait, I just told you this on the phone :flipoff2::D

Yeah I overheard some conversation that lead me to beleave the XJ had caused some bad blood to flow previously... still for the sake of all on this run it was not dealt with appropriately this run...

Past is past.... live and learn....

Leason learned... stick to your guns. use better discreation with existing rules.. apparently u got stung before by this guy... using the existing rules to eliminate him till he is properly set up would have avoided todays issue. Not sure you got to come up with new rules that may end up eliminating other folk that would be just fine.

how do they say it....

Fawk me once.. Fawk U but....
Fawk me twice..... Fawk me.... (for letting him do it again)

Ok.... nuff preaching/teaching by me..... its a bad habbit of mine

actually using the rules to eliminate him would have solved "one" of the major issues.

The guy who steered the YJ into the Goo of the century.... thats something different.

man im glad we seperated from the traffic, we had a good ride and found a good loop, sorry we lost you welby i thought you knew where to turn we waited but you never got there. i gotta get a cb. i agree with you guys , if your going to try it you better be able to get out. just way too many trucks for that place . we saw a few local drunks at the bottom-less pits and they were bitchen about that stuck jeep. i was fully prepared to yank flatbed in the crick but he made it just fine.

Cool..... then next time we hit trails.....

Any takers on fabbing my winch mount etc..... I got this NICEEEEE BEEFYYYY 12000 lb winch just calling someones name?

here's the idea

I got a winch! I need help fabbing the rest of my mount and a few other things. I'll trade a 12000lb winch that needs a $100 motor for getting me set up! :smokin:

Well whenever you guys want to run again let me know. I will try to keep up with you. Other than the one bad line I took on the crick when my hub was not licking I don't think I held you up to much.

Yea buddy, we did all but one trail at Tellico in 2 days!

And I knew I had to drive home on the 3rd day!

Rob just said,,,,, This way..... And we were off! I did hear a few times 3rd gear... Get it! over the CB... :D

Sounds like your trip to Creek falls was a bummer.
That dam Blue YJ got stuck at East Brady trying to cross the rocks at the bottom of the hill. He should have never tried them. We had to yank him out there too.

Who set him up saying that muck wasn't deep? Just look at the pic that mudpuppy posted and you can tell thats nasty.

I dont think I would have tried it. But the guys from OHIO in the TACOMAS would have... They love that stuff! :D And they would have made it too. " Damn the torpeodos FULL SPEED AHEAD!"

Mudpuppy
11-19-2001, 01:35 PM
The guy that said that them muck was not that deep jwas driving a real pretty Red XJ. Although he was screwing around and trying to get one of the other guys to go through it and the blue tj must of been watching and did not know that he was joking. I just happened to be standing there when the depth mesurment was being done. But the bone stock xj that was stuck in the other hole should not of even been on that run. Oh well maybe you can make it next time belly. it was a blast. My springs did not even fall off this time. I made it relativley unscathed. My only problem was I had a hub that would not lock so I swapped it for another one that I had that would not unlock. between the two of them they made a good pair. What is nice is they are as easy to change a changing a tire.

Hey BAJG, you are right about a mans gotta know his limitations. I'm new to this ( I know :flipoff2: newbie ) If you don't try harder stuff you don't get better. But even as a newbie I can look at something and think, Fawk that, need more experience and better equipment. ( mabye even bigger gonads :D )

Flatbed,
Are you completely new to wheeling in general? If so, you're doing a kick-ass job, and tackling some pretty hard stuff that I would have probably shit myself on when I first bought my YJ in '94. So don't sweat it if you have a tough time on some stuff

Hey Welby, I think Launch found the right approach to breakin a newbie ( I know :flipoff2: newbie ) Wellsville may not have so hard experienced folks, but that was my first run. I guess if you live and got clean clean shorts ( commin down Twister was  ) And can drag your own a$$ around without being winched or towed I guess you might make it as a wheeler. Also, after Wellsville, I look at something and say, Fawk it, lets do it. I gotta man, this sport is a blast. More so when when you got some good support ( and ragging :flipoff2: Bob ) BTW Launch another truck won't go up that trail, you marked your territory :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
