hi there

my cj6 is finally coming together, and i am considering a 3/4e in the rear.

but i am worried about statements that they "...rob traction".

I have a spoa, 2 D44s, dual transfers and I will run an anti wrap bar, and its not a daily driver. I see all kinds of terrain, so it would not be a dedicated rockcrawler.

My Q. is if a 3/4 is done CORRECTLY, will it help in the articulation department??? (when i say articulation, i mean REAL LIFE articulation, not a ramp)

after all, if i do it it would be with the option to pin it down.

thanks for any input!

4 link 3/4 eliptical systems can work great if built correctly. try doing a search. there is alot of info on this site relating to them.

If you are set on doing something of that nature I would suggest the Missing Link style. IMOP this is better because it eliminates the side to side movement that is 3/4 E is prone to having

If you do it, you must use a links system with it. I say it's not realy nessesary to have 3/4.

But for the love of GOD, PLEASE don't waste your time and money on that piviting shackle CRAP!

Ok so what is a missing link??

Is a 3 or4 link actually necessary? Seems like some sort of traction bar is all you would need. I've seen a good number of 3/4s with no links and they seemed to work fine
