: Drive Shaft question

Sorry for Jacking the last thread, won't happen again!! (Damn Newbie syndrome)

Well, anyway, heres the story. Like I said before, I currently have HD OME springs, Bistein shocks, 2" spacers all around, and the front shock relocators w 265/75/16 BFG MT's on my 89 RRC. I'm going to be putting in a 2" body lift from RTE this summer, so that should bring me up to 5.5-6" of lift.

There is a guy parting out a 2002 DiscoII, and I thought since I'm going to be putting more lift on the RRC, I should probably get an upgraded driveshaft(s) for the new angles. The question is, will the drive shafts from the 2002DII fit directly in place on my BW transfer case. Like I said before, a bunch of people have told me a bunch of different things like they will be too long, or too short etc.....

Just to remind you, I will be up to 5.5-6" of lift but 2" of that will be from the body lift, and this is a BW transfer case.
So, the question is, should I get the driveshafts, or wont they fit???

Thanks in advance,

Ben

The rear will fit, front will not. however get the front, they come in handy since they are double cardon driveshafts. If you were to convert to an LT-230 t-case the front would then fit.

Is the rear a double cardon as well???
I mean is it any different than the stock one I currently have on the RRC right now.........and how does $75 sound in terms of price for 1 driveshaft???

Thanks,
Ben

Ok, lets make one thing straight here. I doesn't matter if you have a 6" body lift, you STILL won't need to put new driveshafts.

Body lift raises the BODY

I believe that even if you did a LT-230 swap you would have to change the output flange to make the DII shaft fit (at least i did).

Double Cardon Shaft: Double U-joints on the T-Case side

Brad,
I believe you are correct. I don't have a DII shaft but do remember this being necessary.

but if you do decide to try a 6" body lift, make sure u post some pics!! ha!

and yes, you need to change the output flange if you went with a DII driveshaft.
