...You're in the WRC. :D

Someone posted a link to a site in Gen 4x4 a day or two ago, and these two videos were on it. I love the part in the 2001 video where the subaru pulls off the road after the nutball driver has worn the wheel down to NOTHING BUT SPOKES

Not dialup friendly (18 and 12 MB)... but here you go:

My favorite is on the intro sequence to the WRC on Speedvision. The car loses a tire, then the navigator points it out as it speeds down the road ahead of them.

Every single time I watch WRC, there are eye-popping events, from wearing the rim clean off, to passing galloping moose, to cars rolling over the heads of spectators.

And them African bushmen can right a car in no time!

Yup. :D

In the second video, a car does about a 12x barrel roll, and people are all leaping out of the way and going "oh no, my dumb ass is in the way" and stuff... :D

Anyone see the one last year where Colin McRea was really far behind, and was driving like a madman to catch up. Well he does a complete roll, doesn't even check anything, just starts and up and goes like nothing happened. It was badass!

Collin said,"It's like driving with your heart in your throat for 15 minutes" !!!!!!!!!! Imagine pushing that line between being really fast and really HURT all the time!

I got into WRC a couple years ago and next to wheelin' it's the only racing that flips my lid. I agree with the earlier statement that WRC drivers are the best period.

There's a white Focus in the first vid that's trucking down the trail with the hood jury rigged on and both doors flapping open in the corners. You know they rolled it a couple times, strapped the hood down and called it good, and hauled ass. :D

There's something about a 4-wheel-drift at 45 MPH, next to a 1,000-foot-drop with NO guardrail that just gets my blood pumping. :D

Been there... done that... 35-40mph drift around a corner in a jeep on 33's, no sway bars and aired down.

Stupid? Maybe

Cool when luck allowed me to pull out and continue on... making me look like a pro? Probably

Scared the shit out of myself trying to recover on small rock/gravel 1.5 lane road right after the turn, while slamming on the brakes to avoid hitting a forest service truck that I was going to fly past at 45? Definately. :shaking:

I saw one video once where a car going down a turn gets sideways and starts to do a barrel roll. A cameraman on the side of the road gets extremely lucky when the car catches a lip and gets airborne over his head while still in a barrel roll.

Yeah, I finally got to watch the second video during commercial breaks from CSI. It's about in the middle of the 2002 video.

thats fawkin nuts! I think everyone noticed that. ;)

I was, however, wondering if anyone would notice... "That driver was left-foot braking I thought that Driver's Ed said that was bad." :D

How come the drivers ed instructor never showed us how to induce a 4-wheel-slide by sliding the rear end the WRONG way, left-foot-braking and simultaenously whipping the car back the other way, and then controlling the skid around the corner using the gas with the right foot and the brake with the left to control front-to-rear weight bias? I would have LOVED drivers ed. :D

Oh, here's another one of an Audi car in the Pikes Peak Challenge from 1987. Skip to about halfway through the video unless you're a foreign language major. ;)
