I saw this Land Cruiser this weekend while wheeling in Gilmer, TX.
It was cool and built nicely. It was also built like a 1/4 eliptical setup, but he used the whole spring.. I never saw it actually flexing, but it seemed like it would work. Here are some pics of it.

In this pic you can see how he used the whole springs and mounted it like a normal spring would be.

In this pic you can see how he mounted the springs using a shackle and some type of pivoting joint below it.

Looks like 1/4 type set up but with a full leaf upside down. Could consider it a 1/2 E with a 4 link. Looks like the roll axis is really low.

Those cables that he is using dont look like they would let that axle drop very far. I wonder if he did that just to get the wheelbase and stiffness.

Maybe cheap limiting straps.

I bet that set-up has more up travel than down travel. Looks like the tire could go up quite a bit. (maybe)

It is defnitely is a interesting suspension. I would like to see a pic of it flexed out.

My guess on the cables is to limit articulation while driving to the trail, not to limit articulation on the trail.

the way those springs and shocks are mounted I'm sure its got crazy travel even with those limiting straps, I would think however if you don't want tons of down travel why not bolt the spring pack to the frame so you get a little more control? I'm sure there isnt to much uncontrolled droop butI would thing you could get rid of the spring in from of the back of the spring and save some clearance and weight

I believe that's called a Cantilever setup. Nothing new, but not common at all...
