chris85 but yours were a hell of alot easier to make. i cut the body off at the door sill all the way down and had to trim some obstructions under the body as well. the sliders are 2x4 1/4" notched with 1/4" L metal welded in.

yeah i noticed that, thats why urs is way better :) . i just took a 2x3 steel square tube and stuck it under there

bringing up a really old thread (see what searching does).

this is the only post I have found regarding us fullsizers. How are people attaching to the frame, especially with SAS. There really isnt a lot of room unless you use a bender it seems, to allow for support at the ends of the sliders. Also, it seems a pretty common problem is frame flex.

Any good ideas out there?

Damon you seen how mine were on my 78. I am going to do the same on this new one, except I am making 3 supports to the frame, as well as goign with stronger steel. the other ones bent pretty easily. Mine were bolted on

yeah, I dont remember. I am fairly sure 2 wouldnt be strong enough, not sure the frame could take it unless it was reinforced.

I do remeber you bending your on the dusy tho.

I just did the trick of stuffing 2 X 3 X 1/4 wall square tube into the body channel under the door, no tie to the frame at all. So far it's holding up pretty well. Drill through the door sill, tap the tube, and bolt 'er in place. The only thing I'd change is to weld a strip of 3/16 or 1/4 strap on the bottom of the slider and sticking out a bit to the side to better protect the bottom of the door.

yeah, I have been running that for a while, but wanted something that would stick out further to try and protect better. Those slider work well if you drop straight down on a rock, but not lean into one

Nice job! One of the cleaner set up I have come across.
