The event was great! Lots of people there, and 4x4Grrl did great. She placed 11th, and just BARELY got beat out of the top 10. :(

Mike was in his new rig, and what a sweet rig it is. Jake Hallenbeck was also Getting It in his Orange Sami, with 4 link coilover front and rear and a 102" wb. Grady turned the Assasin into a tri pod today, when he snapped the passenger side knuckle off, on the last course of the finals. Bob Roggy's creation, that Jeremy Faber was driving, was an unbelievably well ballanced machine, and Jeremy drove it like he stole it. The final 10, were truly impressive to watch today.
I busted a drive hub, on my 1st course(#3), and tore out my hydraulic line for my ram, (and my pump went south almost emidiately after),on #4. I was able to keep the rig running and stay in my line up throughout the day, but I was basicly just having fun on the obstacles, since their was no way to muscle through the tight course with no power steering,(my biceps have also grown to "Arnold" proportions, from the work out). The drive train held up great,, and the new 105" wheelbase, helped me get up all of the steep stuff and I was able to finish out the day. I had an awsome time. The crowd was great, and I cant imagine how it would have looked, if the cut off rule for spectators hadnt been imposed at the last minute.
Check it out, I even had a few kids ask me to sign their programs, it was very cool:) .

Great pics! How'd the CalRocs folks come out o the deal? Were they pleased at the turnout? I'd have to think so if they put the brakes on spectators coming in :)

We have a video of Mike on his last run on Saturday, where he landed on the passenger side and just walked right out!! Great ride, really GOT IT!!

Mike followed Chris Durham all day Satyrday. Man, some very exciting wheeling between the two of them!!

Well those pics were taken straight from my digi cam along with the pics. I do have a bunch of video too and I have a capture card on my machine to get clips (the ones here on pirate4x4 in the video section ) but that is more work, might get to it eventually.

Me and flashlight man got well over 300 pics and 3 hours of film together I am guessing :)

Welderboy did switch to MT/R's later on Sat.....Why was that??

I also did notice the two tires of choice were either Swampers or MT/R's. Most were sportting MT/R's maybe they are better for competition use? I still prefer swampers they also don't hit the pocket book so hard:D

Welderboy started with new 42" Swampers... And after a couple of runs, yanked them and put his MTR's back on. I sold my MTR's to pay some bills - but I wish that I still had them. :(

did he do it cause' they are narrower?? or were they gettin 'better traction??

He told me he was tired of hitting cones with the swampers, so he went to the MTR's to be narrower.

This rig doesn't flex much for a "built" rig...

That rig flexes pretty damn good, although I didn't check it out in detail his ride heigth is totally adjustable. This may be a reason why in that pic his tire is not dropped. All I really know about it is is that it works freakin Awesome!!!

Looks like it was an awesome event. Wish I could have been there to see Durham roll, I never thought that would happen.

Glad to see Mike Harmuth did well--I always thought he was a better driver than his ARCA placing showed.

its not flexing much in that pic cuz there isnt much weigh on the rear at that angle to compress the suspention.

Looked like a good course like the added water puddles.

Kelly Clifford made top 10 ( "10" was a popular Bo-Derek movie) Kelly kicked-ass and she is my mentor. But I have to say that picture of "WB" get-tin it on up the hill was the best shot out of all these pic's. I bet the second video ROCS. Thank you all for posting all pics. THANK GOD FOR DIGITAL CAMERAS! All of us visual creatures thrive on it.

I bought the video of day one and was very disapointed with it, very short and only had footage of the first couple gates. Some funny Billy Bob footage, and a few decent extreme shots, but for the most part, LAME!

Might I ad that the video people told me that it was 74 mins long and it seemed more like 25 mins.:mad:

I really want to thank Rich Klein for initiating this event, Bob Roggy for setting it up and all of the sponsors, (special thanks to JP Off-Road). You have helped to make our lives more exciting and giving us a "next time" to look forward to.

Seriously, that is some awesome footage. I like the looks of that course more than the others in the desert with no water or vegitation. I bet the water holes made the climbs out much tougher than what you guys are used to when you're on dry slickrock or granite.
I hope you all had fun, and congrats to those who finished.

People were gettin' it so much when I was there. Plenty of carnage. Anyone gonna watch Junkyard Wars tonight? The girls from JP Offroad are on it. It's the mega wars episode.
