: Check out my new Jeep!
IndyCJ 05-02-2003, 09:12 AM Driving along, minding my own business...turn the corner....and see this beauty!
It's got a Nissan Diesel (missing head)
Nice big (wide) Dana 70 (I think)
And the body is in DAMN good shape.
He wanted 600, talked him down to 400. :flipoff2:
It'll be taken apart next week. :D
Enjoy the pics.

Cool man. I see those for sale from time to time at some of the drilling company yards around where I live. What are the plans?
kwrangln 05-02-2003, 09:17 AM Damn, all that work modifying your cab, only to buy one for 4 bills when its done:flipoff2: . Cool find, HERES A RECENT THREAD ABOUT EM. (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125320)
Meyer 05-02-2003, 09:18 AM The plans are to piss of his wife when:
#1 She finds out he bought it without her permission
#2 It sits in the front yard on blocks for months
:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
IndyCJ 05-02-2003, 09:29 AM My biggest 'gripe' about my 'homemade' cab was that I had to make doors, and no top. It's not that big of a deal, but when the boy is old enough to ride, I think that in January, he'd appreciate the heat being kept in.
So, I saw it, and originally thought that 400-600 was a good deal for just the cab. Doors open/shut good, good glass, hardly ANY rust, so I was like 'kick ass'.
When I went to haggle with the guy, he mentioned Dana 70, and 4.88 gears (which I've already bought for my front 60). So I was like 'BONUS'.
Meyer... I know, I gotta strip the shit off of it QUICK and get it out of her side of the garage. :flipoff2:
So, I believe that the rear is 77" wide, I'm gonna check it out, and prolly still use it. I've got the hummer rims that I was gonna offset (eventually), but if I can use the axle as is, I'm good to go. Just have to find some dually hubs for my front D60.
Wider is better. :D
preach 05-02-2003, 09:38 AM Does the top come off of that or is it fixed?
Keith Strong 05-02-2003, 09:47 AM Now THAT is fawkin cool!
Lucky bastard, I wish I could find one of those around here, I just want the cab/top/doors/hood/fenders/grill

I think that the grill is the same dimensionally as a regular 'CJ' grill. If that's the case, the fenders and grill are up for grabs. They are butt fawkin ugly. :barf:
I'll just use my current CJ grill.

Thanks!
shawnscj 05-02-2003, 11:59 AM We had a couple dozen of those things on my base when I was in the USAF. They are geared SUUUPER low, I thought it would be lower than 4.88. And only 2wd.
I just wanted a whole one. Hell I would keep it all together and just bob the fenders. Definitly different

Yea, but it's weird.
I'm taking it apart, but I'm putting it together more 'complete' already.
I'm gonna weld the rear diff, and I'm done. Put the cab on, and I"m done there.
It's actually probably saved me about 2 months worth of work. :D
Bgcj5 05-02-2003, 08:00 PM Thats def a cool find to bad u didnit get it a few months ago so u wouldnt have had to go through all that work to bob the tub but oh well u have a nice clean tub to start back with. Excellent job and get us pics when the new tub is on.
