After reading through old posts, it seems that oil pan gasket leaks are permanent. My 96 Disco is leaking all around the pan and I'd like to fix it.

I couldn't find a silicone/metal core or crushable soft metal/alum (?) gasket from SCE or anyone.

has anyone had luck sealing the oil pan w/ anything else while still being able to remove it?

Right Stuff is the stuff man. Makes removal kinda slow but possible. Make sure the rear section of the pan has a moderately thick bead cuz it will often be the source of alot of leaks.
