We'll have been there twice this year already by that time.

That is the Calroc event going on this weekend. Supercrawl is being held at Moonrocks in late September.

From the top three @ UROC, the site had not been committed too yet and the Reno sites were not very high on the list. I would consider all to be rumor till you read it on the UROC site. I suspect Farmington is out for reasons mentioned. Nevada is a big state;)

before the awards but earlier in the weekend it sounded like Cedar or St. George- there's some BLM politics going on with Nevada/BLM land right now.

Well UROC has put in an application for an event on sept 26-27 for COUGAR BUTTES, (west end of Johnson Valley). That would be a weekend after the CalROCS finals in the same area.

Did Craig mention anything this weekend about a different location?

Heard St. George, UT today from someone who talked to Craig, but still have not heard a definite answer. Still sounds like it is up in the air.

Get on the phone with your Nevada BLM reps, then, and see if you can get them to reverse their decision to pull ALL permits for Nevada competitions. :(

BTW, the print mags might not be the best place to get scheduling info for upcoming events -- they have a four month lead time prior to printing... and competition sites are changing way faster than that.

i'm here in vegas and the BLM is in the middle of changing where we can wheel using some bull about dust hazards and trying to blame off-roading as the cause, lets not look at all the construction going on in vegas. i haven't heard of anything coming to vegas this year but that could change. if i hear any news i'll pass it on, would be nice to have it in my own back yard.

While I doubt it would be there, I sure wouldn't mind since my parents just bought a house there. ;)

I am assuming that you are not only talking about rock competitions but also desert races. Is that correct?

And yes as soon as I am living in LV I'll get involved in land use issues - but as of now I'm still in TX the land of no public land.

Dunno about dez stuff, the folks I was talking to were promoting rock crawling.

FWIW, I look forward to anyone who is planning to spool up and engage on land use issues.
