Has any one else tried the leaf spring swivelling mounts from BC Bronco's? Well I have and they gave me about five inches more flex, I love them. What do you guys think?:D

I won't to hear about street characteristics and see some pics. Have been debating them for a while now.

me too, I like the concept but want to know how they react all around, not just on the ramp. Thanks

On the street they do okay. The only problem is that I had to put in a panard bar to keep the leaf springs from twisting at the shackles. the leaf springs were actually twisting when I went a round a corner and the hinges were alowing the rear end to slide from one side to the other. I the bronco wasn't leaning, but the rear end was walking out becuase of the leaf springs. I didn't even feel it, by buddy told me it was doing it when he was following me. Other than that they are great.

so they are great if you dont mind your rear end falling out on the way to the trail! LOL
I have heard that some individuals are using a spacer between the plates to lock them out. After looking at a couple of sets I can see where it would be easy to do.
This would give you stock performance on the road, when you hit the trail just remove the spacer.

The panard bar does the same as the spacers for locking out the hinge, but you don't have to remove it or fuss when you hit the trail. THe panard bar does the same thing as the track bar, on the early broncos

They suck, they bend, add a odd rear steer, Get your flex other places, like buying better springs

If you cut the bottom plate down to the same size as the spring perch and weld them on, they don't bend. The panhard bar prevents the rear steer, and How does 43 inches of flex in the rear sound for flex?

like all unbalanced flex :p

Well I built mine about 2 years ago and yes it does get some side to side motion on the road. On the trail it does great. Mine were built for 2" of lift ( 3.5" 11 leaf nationals in rear and 5.5" rock crawlers up front) and the perches were made with 1/2" plate and are 7" long. As far as unequle flex you tell me. This was tonight at our Dixon 4 wheelers meeting.

What size bolt you guys runnin' through there??
Seems like alot of torque for 2 bolts. Or are you using an anti-wrap bar of some kind at the same time??
How long is the center piece?? Cause the longer it is the more leverage it would have against the torque (& vise versa).

I think if you are buying the pivots for added flex, then that is he wrong idea. The point is to keep bind out of the springs, making things last longer...the added side benefit is the better flex. If you are looking for another solution, Alcan will build ya some springs with a johnny type joint in one end or maybe both ends of the leaf pack that will accomplish the same thing. I dont notice any weird road manners from my bronco with the pivots...

See, this is what I've always wondered. Looks to me like you lose sidehill stability.....................?

I dont notice a bit of difference to be honest. I run a wristed arm up front and that is always unpinned when wheelin...and I would say that would provide more sidehill problems than anything...really the only time they pivots lay over in an angle like that is when you are stopped...if you are moving and there is any power going to the rear they stay straight.... I will have to pay attention a little more when I get the 60 under the front and see.
