I took this shot on Saturday, figured some of you might want to see it, it's not often one encounters a really clean FJ45 LWB tailgate, let alone a whole truck like that! :)

Here's the actual tailgate, I apologize, I'm stupid and still haven't figured out the new POR system...duh!

Hey Henry, is that Astis' pick up? I thought that he would never get that thing together. It looks great! He did a nice job....

Yeah, Chris, it's is! He's still got a few details to hammer down, including painting his newly found "headache bar" to match, but the truck is pretty much done. I don't care too much for the color, but the truck itself is a thing of beauty, it's really, really clean and they replaced everything they could with OEM Toyota parts. It's got OME suspension on it and rides like a charm, once you get past the non-synchro column shifts! :)

Awsome......must be nice to be able to build something that clean. If I remember right it's a MB color. Non-syncro column? Yikes.......no thanks! He never ceases to amaze me.

The last year of the FJ45 in the USA was something like 1967.

Henry,
Can you get a few more shots of that beast?

Rear window shot and shot below the rear window/ in front of bed please!!!!!!!

This is the avenue I am pursuing for the lightweight half cabs!

Sorry, I don't! :(
I didn't go full-blown on a photo shoot because it was inside the shop and the lighting wasn't very good. I was also shooting with a digital camera (first time ever) and I was having trouble doing so. I can stop by 4x4connection and snap a couple more shots of it if it's there, but I won't get to it till next week.

THanks Henry.

I'm thinking about a half cab conversion for FJ40's.

I've seen a few hack jobs and know my parts would be killer replacements for guys with leaky homebrew tops.

The rear window panel and the filler panel from the floor up are the last mold I have to conjure up!

What is that silver lever on the left????

60seriesguy
11-20-2001, 06:52 AM
That's the vacuum-operated t-case lever, standard setup on all early Land Cruisers.

Here's a few more as a "fix" until Henry can take some more pics.

James was kind enough to send me these when I mentioned I was drooling over his truck.

FJSRule, I'm more jealous of yours than I am of James's, I've been craving an FJ45 project for years! :(
I just learned of one that slipped through my grasp, too...sigh!

I was searching my archives for more pictures of this FJ45 and found this shot of another high-end FJ45, this one is Dale Kowalcyk's. It is immaculate, when he restored it he was able to source some of the last stocks of OEM parts still floating around in the Toyota system. Coincidentally, the little bit of blue FJ45 you see in the background is the same one that James later turned into the green one we've been drooling over! Small world.

I HATE not having my Photopoint albums...sigh! Here's another shot for you guys, the elusive "headache bar", this one on Bruce Miller's AMAZING FJ45. Enjoy!

And the last one for the night, another pristine East Coast FJ45, this one Eugene Cole's from my local chapter of the TLCA, Capital Land Cruiser Club.

Henry, What happened to all the photo's you had????    :barf:

60seriesguy

I still have all the photos (approaching 5,000+ of them), but for the time being, they're homeless. Photopoint and I didn't see eye-to-eye on the increasing charges, despite the enormous traffic I brought them, so finally I gave up and removed the albums. Since then I've been generously given unlimited space to host the collection, but because when it comes to computers, I am a certified MORON, there's been a big delay in making it available to the public once more...
My apologies, I don't think anyone misses it more than I, searching through dozens of ZIP disks and CD-RW's looking for a picture is not my idea of fun.

REALLY?
we got FJ45s right through until 1984, with eveything, like 5 speeds and tachos, then we still get 75 and 78 series utes too!

is there no market for that style of vehicle?
either way, that one in the photos is just SICK (sick as in spectacularly good, i just cant beleive how good it is)
