I have a 2002 2500HD crew cab, and i want a 6" lift. Every place I contact says they all suck but 1. Of course its the one they sell the most of. Problem is every shop pushes a different kit. Any suggestion from you non bias folks? I'm leaning twords the pro comp or the skyjacker.
Thanks for your comments

I even heard both of them suck. I don't have IFS in my truck anymore, so can't say what brand to get, but I've heard that Dick Cepek is a good kit. Hopefully someone else can help you better than I.

OK for the record... IFS sucks. But because this is a new rig, I can understand why you don't want to hack it up. Rancho is the best IFS kit out there as far as durability is concerned. Procomps lose alignment, and Skyjacker isn't exactly a very popular company (there are reasons).

I love rancho, but they dont make a 6" kit for the HD, just a 4".
And the reason I'm leaning twords skyjacker is because they have a brand new kit out that supposedly doesnt require any cutting of anything. RCD and and fab tech also have kits that are well represented. Trailmaster has one as well but its the cheapest and theres prolly a reason why. IM SO CUNFUSED:confused:

well i was stressing myself out over all this which kit stuff, so i just put the money don on the trailmaster. Why.....I dont know, it was the cheapest and all the kits are very similar. It will be installed next monday may 12.
Now which tires and wheels? And the stress starts all over again:eek:

well sounds like you decided already but it all depends on tires. I guess you want 35's? if you just wanted 33's I'd say go with RCD. As far as I'm concerned trailmaster is one of those companies where you get what you pay for. I've never installed one but I've cut several from ifs toys and I'm not a fan. I'm on my second 2500HD (the first, a 2002 was totaled after some treehugger in a volvo turned in front of me). I have a 2003 with an 8 inch fabtech, the second I havwe installed and I really like it. Everything fit like it should and the truck drives better than most ifs trucks lifted this high. As for tires, if you plan to hauk anbything heavy or tow, make sure you get a tire with a decent load rating.

BTW you wanna stay away from the 16.5" rims, if i'm correct that is what the 1500's have. Dont know abou the 2500's.

2500 have a 16", and yes I've heard the 16.5 dont have the bead inside the wheel that keeps the tire mounted as well. So I'm definatley looking at the 16x10 as a replacement.
Thanks

Actually... I am giong to tell you that www.fullsizechevy.com/forum is a better forum for you. They are an IFS oriented "poser" forum for the most part. :flipoff2:

We recently installed a Rancho kit on a friend's '03 duramax and I think it was a 4" kit but yielded 5" after the suspension settled. Overall he said it dramaticly improved the ride and the installation went together cleanly with only one problem where the torsion bar xmember drop brackets didn't fit quite right :shaking: but that could've been the holes we drilled for it :D

dude, use 6" blocks. that would be bitchin', then have them chrome plated, then you'll be blingin'.:jeep:
