: My 360 won't run

I had my 15 minutes of fame on Sat. My (rebuilt) 360 fired up after noticing that the dist was 180 deg off. It sounded sweet!!! Purred like a kitten, a BIG kitten. Unfortunately I left my radiator monitoring post and it floweth over. I threw the cap on before it lost too much but it got hot so I shut it down. After letting it cool I fired it up again and it ran like crap. It backfired a bunch and popped a bit out of the carb. Then it died. I was able to get it started again but it just ran the same and died again. I haven't been able to get it started again. I had lost the spark for a while but found an ignition wire had came loose. I have a spark and fuel but it still won't run. I've tried everything I can think of but I just can't get it to go. I'm tempted to take it to shop to have it diagnosed because I've tried everything I can think of and am at a loss. When I get home today I’m going to check the oil level to see if I’m getting A/F in there, pull the plugs to see how they look, blow out the cylinders and check the compression. Then, if all checks out okay, I’ll put it all back together and try it again. If nothing then I may just find a local shop to diagnose the problem so I can fix it. If any of you have any ideas or suggestions please pass them on. Or if you have some time to come by and help try them it’d be greatly appreciated.
