tried doing a search but didn't come up with much on this. i've found a really good deal on a Detroit for my D60 but its only good up to 4.10, i wanna run 5.38s but i would really like to jump on this deal. i have heard that u can run a ring gear spacer and i could still use this detriot? if this is true, who makes them, where can i pick up one(randy's R&P?). is there any strength issues with running the spacer versus a thick ring gear? do you have to get longer ring gear bolts??

thanx

Using a ring gear spacer is a nice way of blowing shit up. Do it the right way.

Both Summit and Jegs sell them. The consensus I got when I considered running one was to tack weld the adapter and/or ring bolts in place. There under $40.00

The problem with a ring gear spacer is that the registers that hold the ring gear in place are too short to do the job once you put the spacer on it. So the ring gear is now only held in place with the bolts. If you want to use it then buy an RC60 since it uses that carrier.
