: the complete d60 donor vehicle list!

Just looking for people to help me out working out which vehicles a dana60 sits under at the junk yard.

As you can imagine donor vehicles are more than a little thin on the ground down here in Australia. But if I can get a nice comprehensive listing of vehicles then it will be immensely easier.

To suit a TJ.

Damnit wonder if being right hand drive changes anything, I don't think so although they do all sorts of weird stuff with our TJ's down here. 3.07 and d30/d44 stock. hehe.

cheers

Also big Ford vans have Dana 60's in the rear

Early 80's Ford & Dodge vans have full floater rears. These are the big 1ton vans.

My front came from a 92 Dodge 1ton truck. It's your basic kingpin 60 with 35 spline shafts and is 67.5" from wms to wms.

** Stay away from Dodge front 60's from 1994 and newer. These are 31 spline, vacuum disconnect crap.

Patooyee that is an excellent list. How long did it take to put that together? Looks like a lot of research went into it. Now if it only had spline counts.

Try looking into the rear Salsbury axles from Landrovers.......some of the 'big' landrover 110" wb trucks had a very '60' looking rear axle........just a thought

Also is there any US army bases in OZ?
the CUCV chev trucks all had the ultimate beef right from the factory D60 front FF14 bolt rear with A detroit .....with 4.56 ratio
Most of these trucks will be from around 1985-1987......check the surplus auctions

Thanks. It took me a while to put it all up. I have the Dana BoM books, which is how I got it all. I have spline counts and everything else for every axle listed on that page. I'll be glad to email requests for information as long as they aren't stupid and too many.

Man, just about any year! 4.10 was the most common ratio. My D60 Chevy front, which is a 79, has 4.10's. I could create another whole list with d60 front 4.10's. If you find one, just open the case and read the numbers off the ring. Or just turn the pinion and count how many times the wheels spin.

one question: How many will it take to get the spline counts on there as well?

hehe

A good bit, since the spline counts are in a special shaft book that I have and not listed along with the axles. The axles list their respective shaft part numbers and the shaft part numbers have the spline counts listed. I may try and go ahead and do it anyway, though.

I have your original in an excel file now!

Do you have a scanner?
Do you have any decent OCR software?
As long as the format of the data displayed for the spline counts is in a decent format you can OCR it and get it into excel, then massage it to line up with the original list.

Just a thought.

cheers

Nope, sorry. But if you tell me what axle you're looking for information on, I will give it to you.

This may be a stupid question, but oh well...

Do you know if any of these axels have a width that is close to or just a couple inches wider than that of a YJ? I believe a YJ is 60". I think a 62" or 63" inch width would be nice.

Thanks!

Allan,

The list everyone is speaking about is on my web page. www.patooyee.alloffroad.com (http://www.patooyee.alloffroad.com) I don't know what other list youre speaking of.

As for the 63" wide axle, my books don't give overall axle width. Sorry. But as far as what axles are 63" wide, you can find lots of Ford rears that are that wide, I know, and as for fronts, I'm not sure, maybe a Wagoneer. I'm sure someone else can better tell you what you want to know.

Plymouth and Dodge used 60s in some of their muscle cars in the middle '60s to about '70. It was something like 440 cid motors with 4-speeds, all of the Hemis and 440 6-packs. They were semi float but they were 1 1/2 inch.
