I heard the PullPal guy went ass over backwards and nuked the entire rig...Anyone know? Also...any ideas on reverse cut 44's for a classic Bronco. I am binding up a bit. What donor vehicle is best...can you cut down/mount arms correctly with F150 or 78 and up Bronco? Thoughts? I am a newbie, so be nice!:smokin:

im selling my 44. its out of a 76 f-100. its full width 66 inches. the arms and everything bolt right up. its good to go. it also has a detroit no spin and 5:13 gears just built the thing. its nice. its got 8 lug hubs, and chromoly steering i want to get about 1200 out of it, but maybe ill make a deal. if you are interested email me at pblackb592@aol.com
also you will have exaust issues if you are running headers. if you are running manifolds, you are good to go. if you have headers you will need to replace them and get manifolds, or i have a complete exaust system with jba shortie headers and 2 1/4 pipes into a delta flowmaster. ill let the exaust go for about 500 cause the headers were 370, and a flow master is 80 bucks a peice new. its dual exaust.
or you can call me at 209-656-0563

I don't think I am interested in buying now, but I do have a couple questions. How did you work the coil buckets/mounts? And, What did you do to the arms to make them fit?

I know this is not the for sale section...but I do have a hard top for sale...want soft top

71 Bronco...

If I bought Microsoft in 1990 instead of this rig, I could buy/build a turn-key buggie now.

ok here we gotakig a deap breath. you cant use a 78-79 bronco front end, well unless you have it cut down and all that good stuff. the 78-79 bronco rc 44s have cast ears where the radius arms mount. o the 76 f-100 dana 44 had weld on ears, and trac bar mount. this made it real easy to move the ears in, and so the radius amrs are in the same exact locaion the stock front end was. i had the front end set up from mike ladd at bent and twisted, so the caster and all the angles are good to go. but i wouldnt use the 78-79 bronco 44, your going to invest alot of money into that to make it work. then a dana 60 doesnt look so bad. finding a f-100 44 isnt the easiest thing either. i was lucky. found mine at pick and pull for 200 bucks. with disk brakes, that i didnt even use. went to the 8 lug. i hope this helps you. i have a soft top for the bronco. its a kayline, its about 3 years old, and the rear window has crack in it. its black, ad ive heard the all the windows can be replaced for about 50-100 at a upholstry (sp.) place.
i ont have directions to it anymore, but it isnt too difficult to put on. let me know if you might want that.

Thanks for all the good info. Yep, the 60 would be nice and I could run 38's, but that is big $$. Last questions...are the knuckles the same on the r44 from the F100 as the Bronco? And, why are you selling it? What is the stock width of a Bronco front axle/how much wider is "Full width"? I know...I know...damn newbies.

Pat, puleezz, you've seen mine. Sure it was on stands at the time but it does work and I haven't done squat to it except flip the cups around. Is it perfect? No but it works and it was cheap. SomedayI might find a deal on a non cast ear housing and then I'll do all that fancy wedge moving hocus pocus and move all my internals to it. If not , no biggie cause the only downside is some funky looking coils and maybe a tiny amount of flex.

Marlon I guess your not the same Marlon cause you'd had seen it too. Anyway the 78-79 are 6" wider

No, I am the same Marlon. I just have a short term memory issue from mother nature. I did see your set up...but I am a bit sketchy on the cup flip and pushing the coils/arms in to make it all fit. Having said that, there is nothing like one that is done and working at a low price. Have you noticed the coil losing strength/failing in any way. I would assume doing what you did would significantly reduce coil life. But you know what happens when you (ass u me). How many runs have you made on this set up? I make 10-15 significant runs per year so I need something that will last.

Running next fathers day? I may have a trailer by then. Also, where are you out of again...East Bay...Modesto...
I forget...Damn mother nature.

damn mike i didnt know it was that easy for you to make the 78-79 work. thats cool. but mine is better hahaha. hey i think i got a god dl on mine so its th way i went. now i know you can fit the 78-79 in thats pretty cool. i know what you mean by swapping the cups. they are offset allowing it to work. nice hearing from you again mike. my new rig is gonna get it. big block, auto, np205 60 front hydro steering. its gonna be nice. i think im gonna run 44s just cause they are only 40 bucks more a tire hahaha

Marlon the coil bucket holes are already offset stock so that they sit outboard of the top of the c-bush so you can just flip them 180 degrees and now they are inboard. You wont make up up the whole 3" per side but it will get you about an 1.5" If you do it this way the indexing to the spring won't be correct so you could drill new holes instead (what I did) Problem there is that your lower retainer clamp won't be as strong (but I doubt it's going to be a problem). Take your pick.
I only have 4 runs on this set up so I don't know from experience what it's going to do to the coils to run them with this little s bend. I do know guys who ran them this way for a coulpe years, wheeled them hard and never made any mention of problems. If it bothers you that much you could fab up a new coil mount.
Fathers Day- I will be there if I have to show up on roller blades,if I let that family tradition slip, I'll never get it back.
I'm in the east bay, Walnut Creek.

Pat the new rig sounds sweet. Are you putting the 14 bolt in it or is it for sale too?

Mike, if you do a Fathers Day run on roller blades, let me know. I'd pay to watch...

First drive of my rig is imminent- maybe 3 weeks? Won't hang with yours but should be fun.

BroncoBoy, I am building a project right now that sounds very similar to yours. Couple questions if you dont mind. Will the D60 diff clear the oil pan on the big block under full suspension compression? How much lift will you have to run in order to clear it? Will you run the C6 behind the 460? A problem I ran into is there are several adapters used bewteen the C6 and 205. DONT use the short adapter (about 6"). It doesnt leave enough room to run CV joint to the front and the shift linkage is VERY tight. Let me know what issues you have encountered on your buildup. Good Luck,
Chad

Are you th dude that bought Mike's rig?

yes i have mikes old bronco. im redong all the tubing. i didnt like how it was set up. i might do coil overs in the back, and cut off the rear part of the frame. i will be doing a whol rollcage to the frame and keep the rad in the back. i dont have anything yetfor it. so my project is only on paper.
need to part out my old one before i get goin on the new one.
