It's no west coast or extreme stuff, but the Wisconsin 4WD Association puts on a Spring Fling event every first weekend in May. This years festivities were held at McCaslin Mountain campground, with trails on McCaslin and the "famed" Pipeline trail.
I led trails for the "locked/winched" group and ran the toughest trails I could create, even opening up two new rock garden areas that day. Only one in the group didn't pull cable, but for whatever reason they opted bypasses on the harder areas.
