WOW!!!
Cal Rocs was better than I could have imagined.
The crowd was great.
The courses were very tight, and the time limits, were,...."a little short"
Its too bad, that so many had to be turned away from the event.
I was the only driver, representing the TIN:skull:BENDER club, since Frosty could not make the competition.
My spotter (Craig Milligan) and I gave it our best, but could not make the cut for the final 10. I busted a hydraulic fitting for the steering ram, at the start of my 2nd course, and the pump began failing quickly, after that. By the start of the 3rd course I was using my steering wheel as an Arnold Schwartzeneger Bicep workout, I cant even fit into my shirts anymore my muscles have become to massive.
The Jeep was running strong, and the 105" wb was letting me climb everything, so with steering out of commision, I went with what was still working, and that was the throttle. I pointed out 4 courses, from hitting gates, but the added traction of the orange cones stuck in the tire tread, and about 300hp, got me up and over every obstacle. And we made it through the day.
I cant wait untill next season, after I have a little more time to work the Gremlins out of my set up.
Big Fecks new Beadlock wheels worked awsome, and got many peoples attention, Thanks Gabe, for rushing them to me.
CTM set me up with a set of, 300m joints, and I coulnt break em, no matter what I threw at em.
here are afew pics, I have about 4 floppys full of pics, somewhere in the motorhome, and a few rolls of 35mm that Bender Blonde took. Ill try to post more pics when I find them.
