I searched and couldnt come up with anything useful.

How can I tell if i have the correct spindle and backing plate on my current dana 44 to work with the 8 lug hub and disc? My front dana 44 is currently 6 lug and out of a j10 truck with big axle tubes. I would think it is the HD version (big tubes) but with just 6 lug discs and hubs so the spindle and backing plate should be the same as the 3/4 ton? Thanks.

What year is the axle? If its the later style you will need the bearing hub and rotor, caliper mount and thats it. I just did the swap with H8MONDAY last week.

Dont forget to have a grinder handy, if you are using 15" wheels.
The taller caliper brackets for larger 8 lug rotors, put the calipers right into the wheel, and need quite a bit of grinding. Even with only 3" back spacing.

Then chances are you'll need the spindles too. I'm pretty sure '77 and up spindles all work.
