I am looking for some shorty headers for my EB, need to have O2 sensors. Also curious if they will clear a 700r4 trans. Please help!

Wild Horses are the best, not sure if they will clear that tranny or not though

Its not that hard to modify stock mustang shorties to work plus there cheap. Got ten dollars into making mine work.

Nobody! Thats why I still run manifolds. I say modify the mustang shorties and have Homer coat them.

Homer is supposed to have a set of Bassani headers for me but there is always something that comes up. I called WH about the clearance but they have never dealt with that setup before. Who makes the Mustang shorties that will work? And prices.

If your running a 351W and have a good exhaust guy - you don't need to modify the shortie headers - at least if you run the Ford Motorsport ones. Got my new ones ceramic coated for less than the WH non-coated ones:D - good thing you have an auto though - the WH shorties are the only ones that fit with the EB clutch linkage.

Shorties,Shmorties:rolleyes:

Go full length from Wild Horses. :flipoff2:
1/2" flanges so no warpage. Clear stock clutch linkages (should be no problem for your slush box).
They are made by L&L for WH's.

IMHO the stock mustang shorties are a comprimise as they are restricted at the flange to allow for quick assembly at the factory.

Old Post brought back to life... My stock cast driverside maniflod is now fully cracked. I welded it and it held for nearly are year... shock.

Eric, How low do the full length headers hang? Are they a rock crawlin clearance issue? I'm running an NP435.

Dont get headman headers. At least for the 289/302 block. They clear the 435 but they need to modded to put on a spark plug socket. OEM Shorites fit on the drive side. But they dump above the frame rail on the pass side. So the shorties set on my to be sold set as no local shop wants to make them work. :flipoff2:

Look into Hookers mid length headers. i think theyre $179 from Summit and they should clear anything, they worked with my 351W and NP435. Plus they dont hang down like the other full length headers.

Hmmm that sounds interesting. Mid length. I like the price. Are the flanges thick? Do you have thier part number?

Plus they dont hang down like the other full length headers. That's good to know! I have those same headers in a box waiting to install. Good to know they'll work with my 351W/NP435. No clutcth linkage clearance problems?.......Hans

look into header hush. It is a clamp sytem that clamp the colectors toghter. No leaks from what i have been told. My parts monkey sold me the 3" kit so I'll have to upgrade my stuff.
