OK, I swear I saw a chart once that had a specs for a bunch of common axles (i.e Chev D44, Scout D44 ect.), and one of the data points was spring center line distance. Now I can't find it:(

I THOUGHT is was in the pirate bible, but no spring center line to center line measurment.

Can anyone help?? I almost posative that the center on a GM D44 is 31.5" but I want to be sure.

I did a search and got back LOTS of info, but nothing concrete, and I don't have the time right now to go through ALL of it.

thanks:smokin:

NO, its at home, and I'm at work designing and looking at my truck figuring out how the hell to do what I want.

Course now I go home, and measure, as well as pull the springs I'm using in the :barf: :barf: rain.

While you've got the tape out, what's the width on your front axle of the T-all. I need to figure out somethen' for an axle swap.

no t-all front axles kicking around Joe. But I *think* they are very near the same as GM's. Ask Tommy to measure his t-all.

Rears are 63-ish......

Front GM 44 perch centers are 31.5", 6-lug axles are 67.5" wms-wms and 8-lugs are 69"

GM 60's have 32.5" perch centers...

HTH!

Thanks Eric. Thats what I thought.

My fellow Scouters are a bunch of funny men :D :D :flipoff2:

I didn't know that 60's were 1" wider  I thought they were direct bolt-ins for D44/10-bolt equiped 3/4T trucks........

Yeah, I'm having a hell of a time figuring this one out. I've got the housing, and I am trying to figure out what the width of the complete axle is going to be. Talked to a couple of guys on BB, and it's going to be between 64 and 67 inches. I just want to make sure that I'll be able to find a plentiful supply of axle shafts. I have a bid in on a 14-bolt dually axle (63" WMS) and want to make sure I can use the housing should I need to. I guess the best bet is to wait until I have the time to mock it up and figure out what the actual will be. I want to use GM or Ford outers and maintain the 5x5.5 pattern so I can keep my stock of 15" wheels.
