the EGR lowers combustion temps inside the motor, they actually run better WITH the EGR stuff. You can dump the air pump , depending on the local emisions requirments, but the EGR is to your benifet to keep...... it will throw codes if you dump it....

I used the ford belt part # JK6884HA or XL2Z-8620-DA.

I came up with a little trick for figuring out what freeking belt to use after dropping WAY TOO MUCH coin on the wrong size belts

:mad:

This only works if you're removing accessories or if you already have a galacly long belt laying around: use you existing belt to wrap around all of the pullies, and of course it's too damn long right, have a friend pull the tensioner up to it full extension, cut the belt, over lap the cut ends so it's the correct lenght and use vise gripps to clamp the belt together. Take the belt with the vise gripps to the parts store and match it up. :flipoff2:

Do you know how to figure out how long a belt is by using a part number..... it's so simple it's almost stupid.

Let's use this belt part number for instance: JK6884HA

it breaks down like this....
6 = how many grooves
and
884 = 88.4 inches long

so if you happen to be using a JK6884HA and change you alternater to a higher amp unit that has a slightly larger pulley diameter, you can usually guess pretty damn close by simply measuring the circumference's of both the old pulley and the new pulley (Circumference = distance around the pulley) then subtract the two measurments, and add 1/2 of that to the belt length, for a new part number.

ie. old alt pulley circumferance = 7.85"
new alt pulley circumferance = 9.79"
equals a differance of --> 1.9"
half of 1.9 = roughly 1"

so the new belt part number would be something like JK6894HA

hope that helps someone....:rolleyes:
