CHICAGO — A touch football game between suburban Chicago high school girls turned into a brutal hazing (search) in which players were slapped, punched, doused with paint and splattered in the face with mud and feces.

Police and school officials in the well-to-do community of Northbrook are investigating.

Officials at Glenbrook North High in Northbrook (search) were examining videotapes taken by students who had gone to a park Sunday to watch the annual "powder puff" football game between junior and senior girls.

Five girls ended up in the hospital, one with a broken ankle and another who needed 10 stitches in her head.

School officials stressed that the game was not sanctioned and occurred off-campus without their knowledge.

"I guess there was some football involved, but then it was pushing, punching, hitting, putting buckets on heads ... showering people with debris and, according to one report, human excrement," said Northfield Township District 225 Superintendent Dave Hales. "It was hazing."

Officials said up to 100 students were involved in the incident in the suburb about 20 miles north of Chicago.

Videotapes played on television show girls in yellow jerseys punching, slapping and dumping paint on other girls kneeling on the ground. Some spectators hoist cups of beer.

School officials were looking at tapes and photographs to identify students for possible discipline, spokeswoman Diane Freeman said. Students involved in athletics or other extracurricular activities must sign a code of conduct that requires them to behave both on and off campus.

"There's nothing else we can do," Freeman said. "It's out of our jurisdiction. The courts and the parents will mete out punishment."

Glenbrook North Principal Michael Riggle said alcohol contributed to the violence.

The district used to sponsor a powder puff football game (search) during homecoming but discontinued the event in 1977 after it became too rough

that happened in peidmont (sp?) east bay sf, a little rich neighborhood, i saw a girl get three front teeth get knocked out, it was rad, she just said her dad was a dentist and she went back in. girls are bad ass when they play against eachother. the game finally stopped when a police helicopter came and told everyone to leave and they were handing out tickets to everyone.

Personally I don't think it's cool, sexy or funny. I like my women classy with a little trashy mixed in. I had a girl that used to cause fights every bar we went into. I thought it was cool the first time. After that it really turned me off. I can understand a girl fighting if it's justified but trying to act tough to get a reaction doesn't do it for me. Unless it's a beer commercial

This is a very upscale burb, they all probably live in 1/2 million dollar houses or better, some waay better. I am sure their rich snooty parents are very proud of them, and the local shrinks will clean up on all the thearpy for the girls and their moms. The story took up the first 15 minutes of every local newscast for the last 2 days.

yeah that shit makes me sick...

just another way rich fucks can screw around... mommy and daddy gave them everything and now its apparently time for them to psychologically need a counterbalance, by allowing themselves to be shit on and beat up.

pisses me off like no other

And the guys too, in different ways, from the way they act in cancun every spring break, to the everyday BS... acting like its all just healthy and normal... :mad3: just using education as a reason to beat people up, steal shit, disrespect authority, in half the cases, protest against THE TROOPS those dumb fucks!

im gonna stop.

I saw that yesterday on the Today show.

From my experience with hazing, there is a limit, and sometimes that limit is crossed, but, once the individual says that they don't mind participating, they take on much of the responsibilty of staying there and taking the punishment, meaning, don't bitch about getting hurt after you have already willingly participated. This morning on the Today show, there were two girls there, they were asked point blank if they at any time said to stop, they both said no. They were both "afraid" to say stop.

This type of activity must have been going on for awhile, it just didn't happen this one time. These junior girls that wanted to participate "must have" known about it, and how severe they "could" be treated. I'm pretty sure that there have been incidents such as this at that school, just not reported.
