I got under my Jeep the other day and with the rear driveshaft disconected, I can grab the rear output and move it up and down slighty. I'm guessing this is bad? A bearing is shot? Fluid looks good in the site tube. What should I do? :(
Phil
kinda obvious but you should pull it out and check the bearings. rebuild as nesassary.

it's a little under a year old with not too many miles. You think I should mention this to AA? Thanks for the speedy response Camo.

The nut could be loose on the rear output.

driveshaft angle is nothing extreme. TJ with about 5 inchs of lift. Is it a pretty task to pull the bearing? I've never done anything like it but know many people that can help me out. I'd like to learn too.
Thanks again Camo, Phil

check the nut first- Jess:D
I agree with Dan and Jesse. I have had issues with the nut loosening up on the rear output. It is a one time use nut so just go get a new one, red loctite the hell out of it (271 is your friend :D ) and torque it to spec. (150 lbs if I remember correctly)

for what you paid....you should definitely talk to AA...I'd also look into whether or not your rear d-shaft is out of balance....
