Ok, not exactly supertech here, but im in o shit its 11:00 pm, motor needs to run tommarow situation.

I put in new timing gears and oil pan gasket. When I took it apart I left the waterpump connected to the timing cover, but then I realised the timing kit came with the new pump gaskets as well and I figured if I have em ill use em (im a dumbass, they were fine), anyway, the case to motor gasket seems perfect, the crank seal seems to fit, but the kit came with 3 waterpump gaskets.

A: they are a little different from each other, which goes where?

B: ill post a picture, but theres a curve in both gaskets that realy doesnt follow the pump, just in one place, is the 302 gasket real similer and maybe thats the prob?

thanks for any advice

Not that it helps you much this morning, but those gaskets have always seemed mismatched on my 302. I think there was one I could use between the pump halves, but nothing that was perfect for the pump/timing cover side.

I might have used one of them, but I mainly used RTV to seal it up.

For future refrence if anyone runs into this problem, the timing gasket kit only come with the plate to cover gasket, 3 versions, the water pump to plate is seperate, o well, 1 day and an extra $2.50, but I at least I got it straight.
