All you California guys have been there, but I had to make a pilgrimage to SOR and TLC while I was in the area. I could not believe how much SHIT was at SOR. It was sad seeing all those Cuisers just sitting there. Here are some shots...visit my site for a bunch more of Specter and TLC.

Hell, I did not put your screen name and the licence plate on that rig together and realize it was yours! So cool to put a rig with a name. I parked my trailer next to your rig and poked around it a bit when I dropped my Cruiser off.

I really like the way you set your Jeep up, it is very nice!

Sunray gets a little backed up sometimes on engine work, but you can rest assured, it will be done right when you pick it up or they will make it right.

I had to gain clearance on my draglink from hitting my frame on compression. Don't know how they did it, I am picking it up today.

Take care and email me when you are up and running and we will WHEEL!

1955-1963 Land Cruisers had centered rear axles.

I did that as proof to those that don't think they can run a centered rear diff and an offset transfer case;)

You can do that???????
 :D

My question is how much air did you have to get to hit your draglink ;)

Yea, what is the deal with doing that. I really want to swap in a NP205 transfercase or a Dana 300 with a 4 to 1 kit.

Just because Toyota did it does not make me think that it's OK. car manufactures, even Toyota have made mistakes before.

The fact that you have been doing is better first hand proof for me...

What gives...you could save me some money if you are correct.

One more thing-

I have noticed that many front shafts go down and to one side. Maybe he is correct...

Many oe aplicaions on 'Merican trucks are slightly offset as well.

Hmmmm.

Maybe I can keep my Cruiser rear axle after all.

Hey man,

What engine are you running? If you have a 2F then the engine is offset about 6 inches to the left of center when you put a center output transfer case on the back of your transmission. I found this out when I did my Atlas to the SM465/2F. If this is the case, you will have an offset Cruiser axle to the right and the output on your transfer being 6 inches off center to the left.

Very bad, in fact when I first installed the 2F/sm465/Atlas, I had built a centered Cruiser rear axle. The offset was 6 inches left to right.

I got a double Cardan output on the transfer case and there were zero vibrations. In fact, if I had not lost 10 inches of driveshaft length it really would not have been that noticable.

If you have a V8 and you are centered in the frame with a GM transmission, I don't think you will have much problem with the driveshaft angle left to right. It should not be more than the 6 inches I ran, plus you will have a 28" driveshaft versus a 18" like I had.

One thought though is to get a D18 with the 4:1 kit and you won't be in this fix.

The Gray and Blue 4 door rigs are Banderante bodies on lengthened FJ-40 frames.

Fully custom stuff made by TLC. The gray one is a Banderante body on a Tundra chassis, paid for by Toyota.

The Blue one is one that TLC is producing with 350 Votecs.

Cool stuff.

yeah i called this morning and cause i was gonna go get it back. they said they would get to it next week so i left it. i hope they do. it just sucks though cause the past 4 weeks i could have been taking care of other stuff on it instead of it just sitting on thier lot. well like you said though when they finish it it'll be right and that is what i want. when i get it up and trail worthy again we'll have to get together.

Here's what the Bandeirantes had in them: 14B diesel (4 cyl, 3.66L, direct injection, 96 hp @ 3400, 177 ft-lb; add about 45% with an AXT turbo kit), 5 spd with 4.925 1st and 0.8596 5th; the crew cab pickup had a rear full floater.
