: fuel pump for 1.6 16v engine
GBRAVO 05-08-2003, 03:00 PM I just boght a Suzuki 1.6 16v esteem engine to swap my old 1.6 8v carburated (Sidekick/Vitara) engine on my Samurai.
The problem is that I dont have the fuel pump located on the gas tank and understand that I need a high pressure pump with certain flow.
Is that right? Am I able to buy any electric fuel pump?
Rudezuk 05-08-2003, 03:07 PM Yes you need an external fuel pump...
Check with Brent at Trail Tough...:D

That pump above is only rated for 4-6psi accoding to Napa? Is that a misprint? I got mine from a late model full size Ford Bronco. It's located under the drivers door on the inside frame rail. the 87-?? trucks should also have the same pump on them. You can get them new from Autozone for about $100, P/N E2000. I believe it's rated for about 45 psi.

This is a picture of the pump with the Ford mounting bracket around it. There's padding inside of the bracket to quiet the pump. The pump itself is cylidrical with two ports and some wires sticking out of it.
