View Full Version : Why run Manufacturer's stickers!?!?!

I just saw some stickers on Rock Buggy's rig, and it got me thinkin, WHY!?!?! Don't get me wrong Rock...

If you are being paid to run someone's stickers I say HECK YEA! But until Moser gives me free axles, or K&N provides me with free filter cleaning products, I'm not advertising for them, HELL NO! This goes for anyone who doesn't cut me a good deal.

I will run the stickers of people or products that I have either gotten a great deal on or have done me a favor. ie. River City Differentials, Sean cut me a deal with my axles and I will be more than happy to run his stickers...if he ever FREAKIN gets anymore! I've also run RE stickers since I got EXCELLENT CS from them. I just can't see slappin a sticker on your rig just because you are runnin this or that product tho, ya know?

I have a few stickers on my junk. Only for places that have done me right.

The new rig has only a Howe Racing Radiator sticker because they got me a aluminum radiator for about half anyone else.

I put the stickers on when a vendor does something so good for me I want to recomend that everyone I know go to them.

To just plaster stickers for every vendor you use all over your junk is Even worse are the guys with a sticker fer junk they don't even have!

Stickers keep the freshly scraped metal from rusting. But then again so does primer.

Insayn, I do believe that primer does not protect against rust. it is porous and moisture will go through it and attack the metal as if there was no paint at all. So, the stickers are a much better choice than primer. Nothing like a nice coat of vinyl over your body rash! LOL

It does however show everyone what you're running. Like saying steal mine instead of his.

That's how I think about it. I have quite a few stickers on mine but they only get there because I have gotten good customer service or the product is bulletproof. One such example is my Currie shackle hangers. I ripped my front passenger one clear off the frame and I had a huge trip planned that weekend. I called Currie when I got home from my escapades and they overnighted me the parts (at no extra charge) so I could weld ut up and still go on this trip. I think that deserves a spot on my rig.

Rokmycj

I only have two stickers on my rig
1. "If god didn't run man out of the garden of eden the sierra club would have"
2. "BEER- helping ugly people have sex since 1842"
3. " Got Beer?"
4. "CA4WD association" the most important

Actually I put my stickers on magnets. that way when I get tired of the stickers I can move them.

Did it ever cross your mind that maybe some people take pride in the educated (or sometimes not so educated) decision they made to buy a certain product and that pride may, God forbid, lead to the display of a sticker on, gasp, their trail rig?

I'm going to go buy a huge PRO COMP sticker and put it on my windshield. With the amount of business that sticker will generate, before too long there will be no one left on the hard trails and more room for me!

Maybe I should pull all my Jeep emblems off before I let DC get any more advertisment.

If you can't take a little ribbing then go somewhere else. I think that's what you guys told me a while back.

I agree that an excessive amount of stickers is rediculous, I just was joining in on the POR spirit by offering an opposing viewpoint!

The thing that kills me is people who go out and PAY MONEY for stickers and shirts and other chit from manufacturers. Basically if you do this you are paying a company to advertise for them.

I love this as a small business owner, and hope people will do this for me. I would appreciate getting paid to let people advertise for me. I would never do it for someone else.

But thats just me, I'm cheap.
