I am hoping someone has some experience with this I just bought a 1990 K5 and there is a noise(bang) coming from my drivetrain. shifting back and forth reverse to drive and when it shifts into the next gear. I have the local tranny shop and drive line shop stumpedits not tin the axles or drivelines I checked the keeper clip in the T-case and I also looked at the flex plate it seems to be fine.
has anyone came across this problem?

remove the driveshaft....put some general purpose grease inside the slip yoke....reinstall the driveshaft....
mine did it for a year before i figured it out. Gm sells some fancy grease for it if you have to spend money.

CHECK THE U JOINTS!!! The pins inside the u joints could be bad or non-existent and when there is pressure put on the driveshaft it causes it to *ting* when it settles into place. The last time i did my U joints i forgot to grease them. About 3-4,000 miles later this exact same problem happened to me. I got scared needless to say, but as soon as i replaced the joints, it stopped doing it. I would also try greasing the slip yoke as he said. I hope this helps.

It does this in 2 and 4wd? What about when the tc is in nutral? I dont quite see how it could be your torque converter.
