Looking for a decent beltsander to shape and finish steel pieces. Been using a grinder with a sanding disc and it works great but it gets tiring on the ol' arm after doing that for a couple hours. Was wondering what some of you guys have in your shops for a belt sander.

I'm running a 12" disc sander on a pedestal for now. Works great on outside corners and flat pieces.

I have a smaller belt sander, Delta 5". Works pretty good for doing inside contours but for anything else I use the disc sander.

Look into Burr-King (www.burrking.com) sanders ... they're max $$$ ... but if you get one, it'll be the last one you have to buy.

as with other things ...you buy the best and you only cry once.
