Anyone have a picture of what these rods look like, they go from the tranny inspection cover to either the engine or engine mounts, need to get an idea of what to make....

Hmm, Neverheard of what you describe. There is a support rod that goes from the t-case to the bellhousing bolts. Not sure on the other thing though.

i know what you are talking about they were on my 83 k5 blazer, but i dont remember what they look like. you might go to a chevy parts department and they might have a diagram that has a pic of it.

The rods are just that, rods. The ends of them are flat with a hole for a bolt at each end. The flat ends are offset from each other to facilitate the bolt mounting points. The rods are approx 15" long.

There is a plate between the motor mount bracket and block with a tab that the rod attaches to and the HD trannys have a thick torque converter cover with 2 threaded bosses for the lower end of the rod.

the rod is 16" and it is 15" from center to center of the holes starting at the flat spot it is twisted 90 degrees to the other flat spot and the other hole. probably be easier to hook up with a junkyard and get the part or a chevy freak that has 3 or 4 laying around to measure lol good luck

This one is from an 80 with a 205/TH350 combo. I would imagine they all look/are the same.

My 74 with a 465/203 combo has a bracket that bolts the t/c to the frame.

Hey spoolnaround, I think that is the wrong "rod".

There is a plate between the motor mount bracket and block with a tab that the rod attaches to and the HD trannys have a thick torque converter cover with 2 threaded bosses for the lower end of the rod.
Are these the ones you want coyote? I pulled these off my 350 and gave the to the buyer. I need to find some to install with my 454. The are simply a round rod aboutn about 5/8ths in diam. They are solid and pressed flat at both ends to about 3/8ths thick. Each end has a single hole in it for the bolt and the flat ends are on the same plane(I think) not rotated to each other.

Hi,
There are brackets that go under each motor mount that these rods bolt to. They are different. Please let me know which one is left or right. I am also in the process of installing a transmission

Yea I guess your right, I must have read that wrong. This is the rod that goes from the side of the trans case to bellhousing.
