Ive seen people swapping in 2wd F100 boxes, and late 70s F150 2wd power steering boxes, whats the diference between the two? Do both of them have the pitman arm facing forward?

it's the same exact box.

I believe he's talking about the F100 box that used to be very popular, and the 78/79 Bronco/F150 box that you swap the internals with the mid 80's 4wd box to get you a setup similiar to the 'rockcrawler' box being sold these days. The first one hangs down very low and is subject to some wander, wears out it's sector shaft bearings quickly and requires a lift to use. The second tucks much higher up, has a thicker, stronger sector shaft and friggin' works GREAT. And, it's easy to do, too. Surpisingly easy. Check www.bcbroncos.com for some info on how to put it together. I think I spent about $50 building mine to put in to replace the F100 box that I'd had problems with for years.
