We have a 1990 TBI 350
Ok, we have the painless wiring kit but my question is what wires do you keep from the stock harness??
Any help would be great.

I would say just the power wire the powered the coil, the alternator wires and the starter solinoid wire(the one that is activated by the key)
On my TPI install I used the large 10gauge Red/white strip wire to power the computer and the light blue wire that went to the solinoid and the alt harness. The rest I have been slowing cutting off.. Make sure you don't cut your brake light wire, blower motor, 4wd lamp and headlight wires...

I put a 95 TBI in my 77CJ using a Howell harness.
One thing I ran in to was that I needed to add a resistor into the switched wire going to the alt.
The CJ had no idiot light, and smoked the GM alt. soon after the first start.
I added a 330 OHM resistor between the alt. and the CJ wire and no problems since. Radio Shack #271-1113.
Your situation may be different.
Make sure that battery wire from the alt. is large enough to carry the amperage, and I would solder the ends on, not just crimp.
