I put a 350 in my jeep and took off the oil sending line for a mechanical guage and want to put on an electrical one. I got a new electrical sending unit that was listed by the parts store but it is coming in contact with the block after one or two thread and really interfers with the distributer. Whick sending unit do I need to put on so it fits right? The engine and drive train were taken out of a 77 3/4 ton chevy truck but I don't know if the engine was the stock motor. How many different sending units are there?

I had to put a 90 degree elbow on mine inorder for it to work..

I think autometer recommends this as well..

I was just thinking of that. I don't know why I didn't before. I guess I'll check with the parts store.
