Has anyone done this swap. And what are the side effects.

I have dodge flattop knuckle on my Jeep waggy D44 wich in under my 94 S-Blazer. Machined the passenger knuckle and put on Shaker hi-steer arms. Didn't have any trouble, everything bolted up, dodge brakes/hubs with Jeep outer shaft. I'd assume the same would be true for a Chevy axle. Don't chevy D44's have flattop knuckles already? Why switch?
