The thing the throttle linkage, tv cable, and return spring attach to to rotate primaries open and closed. I need to get it off my q-jet and on to my TBI because the tbi was from a manuel and no tv hookup  . How do I get it off?

It should be pressed on to the throttle shaft. You might need a special puller or???. I would take it to a carb shop and see what they say.

I wonder if a bearing puller would work. Those look like the kind of things that would be a PITA to put back on.

I'm sure it would work, but it would be a PITA to put on, if it even fits. Are the shafts the same size?

Yeah the shafts are the same size and shape but because of the shape I cant get the claws of the puller to grab it. Even if I did with no taper or anything I dont think I could get it back on. Any ideas?

Do you plan on keeping/using the Q-Jet? If not, cut the end of the shaft off with the plate on it. Drill out the center of the shaft with the biggest bit that will fit without damaging the plate and drive it out with a punch. I think that will work, but I dunno for sure. *shrug*

I think you have to pull the shaft inorder to press them on or off.

I simply took a meashurement on ware the mounting point was from the center of the shaft and the plate that holds the tv cable on the intake, cut the tab off of the q-jet and welded it to the carb I was using in a spot that matches the dimensions from the origional carb. Took 15 min, a cutting wheel and the welder.

Or you could fab your own hookup or go to summit and buy the generic pieces.
