So, one of my brand new driveshaft yoke bolts that thread into the yoke on my 14 bolt decides to shear off, leaving a 1 inch stud stuck in the yoke. Ive drilled and tried to extract it, but its not gonna come out without getting the yoke off. I have a 1.5 inch socket for the pinion bolt, but i hear that you cant take the yoke off without getting a new crush sleeve? What if i just took the yoke off and then put it back on after i get the damn broken off bolt out of there?

Also, who has ideas or a way to remove the yoke once the pinion bolt is off? Its quite stuck

TIA Grant

Dont bother pulling to yoke. They are a big ass pain to put back. I tried to put mine back without a new crush sleeve and melted the new pinion seal I had put on. What you should do is drill out the stud/threads on both sides and convert it to u-bolts. Many guys do this just to get rid of the straps. The u-bolts are much better and are a 30min/$10 fix to your problem.

What straps would one use if they wanted to drill their 14BFF yoke? What application should I buy for to make it fit correctly? And what size should you drill the yoke to? :)

I asked a bunch of drive shaft/power train questions and the same answer kept coming up every time. So here ya go.
