Hey guys,
I need some advice. Times have gotten tight lately and I am forced to get rid of one of my projects. Unfortnately, it has to be my 1942 Willys MB.
I don't have any pics yet. I know I can't recoup the many, many hours I have into it, but I would like to tell what I've got and get some opinions on what it might be worth.
It's an original, rust free 1942 MB body stretched 9 1/2" just behind the door openings. It has the windshield frame, fenders, grille, hood, headlights and new O.E. blackout taillights.
The custom tube chassis has 2"x4"x.120" box main frame rails. The competition style 12 pt, x-braced roll cage is .120" x 1 3/4" tubing. All the suspension mounts are 1/4" boxed
and gusseted plate, as is the 4 bolt saganaw gearbox mount. It is set up for wrangler springs, and is a long, fold back shackle setup. (can be easily set up for a hinged shackle)
it is also set up for a small block Chevy, and has a distributor recess and raised tranny hump and new floor. All major fab work is done except for shock mounts, including rear mounted
fuel tank with skid plate, 1/4" trans skid/crossmember, all seat and seat belt mounts. (set up for 3" 5 pts, and Corbou Baja seats) THe front tube bumper is set up for a Warn 8274. It is painted WWII O.D. green.
I will also be selling this stuff with it:
used saginaw "74" steering box
Brand new Griffin aluminum racing radiator (mounted) with custom fan shroud & new stock car racing fan
Complete set of electronic Stewart Warner classic "wings" gauges for the original openings
1978 A.M. General steering colomn, wire harness & fuel tank.
used stock Wrangler springs
New shackles and poly bushings.
All new headers with O2 sensor bung, mandrel bent 2 1/2" between the frame rails exhaust and Predator turbo mufflers.
I won't be selling the engine, trans, axles or brakes.
It has never been fully assembled or driven. and has no plumbing.
All welding is first class done with an industrial MIG. The tubing was all bent on a professional mandrel bender. This is a first class rig.
Thanks in advance for your advice, look for it soon with pics in the "for sale" section.
