Okay well I had a pretty serious leak coming from the front output of my NP208 it was pretty bad but it still held some fluid so I could drive it around.. Well I had a seal and gasket kit and i took out the front seal yesterday and after I got it out I looked at all the gaskets and took the one with the same markings.. metal outer with black paint on the front of the metal ring, with two spring tensioner one on the outside one on the inside.
Well when I went to put it in it just fell right in where the old one was a bitch to get out.
Well I went to go fill up the t/c today to replace what fell out when i took out the seal, and as I fill it up it just leaks out the front seal area.. its just about equal to the amount I put in to what comes out... Did they send me the wrong seals? Will it expand and tighten up? Is there any tips to help me out with this.. From what I heard was wrestle the old out and hammer the new one in...
Any idea's guys?

Might be the wrong seal- can you check the part # against the old one?

You might try reinstalling the seal with some silicone caulk aroung it. Clean the heck out of all related parts first with brake clean/ parts cleaner.

sounds like u need a sleeve kit to go around the shaft....either that or you got the wrong parts....

Sounds like the wrong part to me. When I replaced the one on my 85 Jimmy it was a bitch to get in there. Lots and lots of small taps in a circle around the POS to get to seat all the way.

you may have knocked the spring off pounding it in... us white grease to hold the spring in... you can also cheat in a pinch and tighten the spring.....take the spring and twist the conection apart... tighten and re attach..and re insert to the seal
