Has anyone clocked a 231 t-case.Anytime I have had my t-case out I have always pulled it with the tranny so I dont know if this will work, but looking at pictures it should be like a 300.

They are already clocked near flat anyway aren't they?

They are near flat, so there is no room to clock them, but down. I have seen this done before. A friend had a Ford dealership install a new case under warentee because there was not a Chrysler dealer near him and they clocked it down. The idiots beat the hell out of the skid pan to get it to fit instead of rotating the case. We fixed it by installing an Atlas II. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I clocked mine after installing the nv4500 in my XJ. Just redrilled the extension housing off the NV by about 3/4 inch and was good to go. Not sure if there is enough room under a YJ without floor hacking....

I guess I will look again. I thought I might be able to get that extra inch.

Hey Wild1 there is room to clock about an inch. I was debating on doing this but as is my driveshaft misses the automatic by about 2 inches. I just figured id leave it... That company 2guy whatever that does the Dana 300 ones will make you a clocking ring for a np-231 if you want...

Those boys over at Klune did some 231 clocking to get the Klune to fit.
Klune & 231 article (http://www.klunev.com/wrangler_install_article_version_2.htm)
Even if you aren't interested in the Klune, it sounds like a good way to lower your tcase and not your skid to get better driveline angles.

If I can keep my transfer case in the same spot and raise the skidplate that would give me the results I was looking for.
