it was pretty rare in the cj-7 ur best chances of finding one would be to look in an 86 they are most plentiful in that year. and there were such things as narrow track waggies. the width on them ran about 60-61 inches however ya use the tapemeasure <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

was the 44 same width as wide track axles?? and what yr wagoneers were narrow track?? i'm trying to find new axles for my 84, but not sure if i want to go through the hassle of full width just yet, any suggestions or picures of full width set ups would kick @$$ thanx again

Good luck finding a D44 rear out of a cj7. I would go with a little wider axle from a scout II. They're easier to find.

In the rear you just move the spring perches. In the front you'd have to outboard the springs.

ok now if you outboard the front spring should you do the same with the rears??

Like Mark said, on the rear you just move the spring perches (on the axle tube).
My understanding is that all Waggoneers are same width, only Cherokee Chiefs are wider.
There is tons of this info on this board if you search for it.

The scout rears are about 59" wide. Just weld the spring perches where they need to go and you are set.

Scout has the same bolt pattern as the CJ. The Waggy's are 6 lug

Yup!

I'm not sure, but I think the waggy rears have an off centered diff in the rear. I know scouts are centered, which is a good thing, you only need to carry one spare rear axle shaft.

Only the Quadratrac equipped Wagoneers have the offcentered rear all others are centered.

Scout fronts kinda suck, crappy alignment and/or pinion angle depending on how you install it, also they don't have flat top knuckles which are needed if you ever want highsteer
